Angeles is the expression of Naarm-based, Greek-Australian artist Pluto Sotiropoulos. Bard like in form, cinematic in delivery, Pluto draws from a rich tapestry of personal narrative, dream, and cultural influences to navigate a liminal space where story meets sound.In summer of 2025 Pluto was awarded a 5 week residency in Portugal where they took the opportunity to explore non-linear storytelling, convening with subconscious and dream states through the manipulation of time and perspective. They supported this practice through a blend of non-dominant handwriting, self applied dream analysis, original folk songs written with spanish guitar and abstractions of street captured recordings that were processed and rendered through electronics. All circulating a DIY ethos in craft and exploration of sound, Pluto embraced form in all degrees of expression, from the emerging out of and the dissolving back into nothingness.The album which emerged ‘Smiling Tears Infinite End’ will be out in May 2026. The body of work was first presented with spanish guitar, vocals and electronics in Eora to a sold out crowd in a dimly lit cathedral in Paddington. Over the years Angeles has performed select live concerts, sharing bills along the way with local and internationally acclaimed artists; Matt Maltese (UK), Julia Jacklin (AU), and Indigo Sparke (USA) and continues to lure listeners into an immersive realm where story and sound collide.
